Main Duties

Role Description

• This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Manager located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks including managing financial statements, performing analytical tasks, handling journal entries, overseeing finance operations, and managing fixed assets.

Responsibilities

• Leading and overseeing the entire operation accounting activities.
• Monitor and mentor/train junior staff, clerks, and bookkeepers.
• Overseeing the collection efforts.
• Maintaining the tax compliance and regular returns and taxes of the company with TRA.
• Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code.
• Reporting to the finance manager.

Other Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
• +6 years of experience in accounting
• +2 years of managing the accounting department.
• Strong background working with ERP systems, Odoo knowledge is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the Tanzanian Tax laws.
• Previous experience in building credit policies and collection activities.
• Previous experience in FMCG or Banking is a plus
• Experience in managing financial statements, performing analytical tasks, and handling journal entries (Accounting)
• Strong background in finance and accounting principles.
• Knowledge of fixed assets
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
