Main Duties

• We are seeking a proactive and experienced Full-Stack Software Developer with strong hands-on coding expertise to take ownership of an ongoing web development project. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with existing codebases, capable of analysing system architecture, debugging issues, and enhancing functionality while ensuring continuity, quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Take full ownership of an existing code-based web application, including understanding its architecture, code structure, and functionality.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews to identify optimisation opportunities, technical debt, and documentation gaps.
• Maintain, enhance, and extend existing features while developing new modules and components as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, system errors, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure smooth project continuity through proper handover documentation, coding standards, and system documentation.
• Implement security best practices and optimise the application for performance and scalability.
• Manage database changes, API integrations, and third-party service connections.
• Administer and maintain web and email servers, ensuring uptime, security, and proper configuration.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and release planning.
• Support deployment, updates, and production environment management.

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack web development.

Backend Development

Strong experience with PHP, including:

• Laravel
• CodeIgniter
• Core PHP (OOP principles, MVC architecture)

Experience with:

• RESTful API development and integration
• Authentication, authorization, and session management
• Security best practices (input validation, CSRF protection, password hashing)

Front-End Development

Strong front-end development skills using:

• React.js
• JavaScript (ES6+)
• HTML5
• CSS3
• jQuery

Experience with:

• Responsive and mobile-first UI development
• Cross-browser compatibility
• Integrating front-end interfaces with backend APIs (AJAX / Fetch / Axios)
• UI frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS (added advantage)

Database & Data Management

Solid understanding of relational databases, including:

• MySQL / MariaDB
• PostgreSQL (added advantage)

Strong knowledge of database fundamentals:

• Database design and normalization
• Writing optimized SQL queries (SELECT, JOIN, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE)
• Indexing and query performance optimisation
• Data integrity, constraints, and relationships
• Backup, restore, and basic database security practices
• Experience using ORMs such as Eloquent (Laravel) or equivalent.

Web & Email Server Management (Must-Have)

Proven experience managing web and email servers, including:

• Linux-based servers (Apache / Nginx)
• Hosting control panels (cPanel or equivalent)
• Email server configuration and management (SMTP, IMAP, POP3)
• Domain and DNS management (A, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC records)
• SSL certificate setup and renewal
• Server security, monitoring, and uptime management
• Troubleshooting email delivery issues and spam filtering

DevOps & Tooling

Proficiency with:

• Git and version control workflows
• SSH access and server deployments
• Basic CI/CD and release management processes

Preferred (Bonus) Skills

• Experience with additional front-end frameworks such as Vue.js.
• Experience building or supporting SaaS platforms or multi-tenant systems.
• Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Trello, Jira, or ClickUp.
• Exposure to cloud hosting environments and infrastructure scaling.
