Job Requirements

Main Duties

· Oversee daily shipping activities, including cargo handling, vessel coordination, and port operations
· Ensure timely execution of import and export processes
· Monitor operations and resolve day-to-day issues affecting efficiency
· Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, clearing agents, and transporters
· Ensure smooth cargo flow from port to final destination
· Track container movements, deliveries, and storage
· Assist in identifying operational gaps and implementing improvements
· Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
· Support cost control and efficient resource utilization
· Maintain communication with clients and service providers
· Provide shipment updates and handle operational inquiries
· Support resolution of customer issues to ensure satisfaction
· Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation (BL, invoices, customs documents, etc.)
· Support compliance with local and international shipping regulations
· Maintain proper records of all operational activities

Other Requirements

 .Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
· Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, or port operations
· Good understanding of shipping processes, documentation, and port operations
· Strong coordination and organizational skills
· Good communication and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
· Proficiency in MS Office and basic operational systems/ERP
· Understanding of the local logistics environment
· Fluent english and Swahili
